Make It Rain!

On Monday i was already running well after the power supply in the office seemingly 'went west' and i was away home in the sun by 4pm. I can't really do too much CAD without a computer after all, but Tuesday was even better.

In a bizarre twist of fate / timing, yesterday as i was reading The Varz's latest blog update, listening to him prattle on about the numerous gifts he received on the poker table on sunday night (mostly from me) i received a gift myself.

Knowing my Student Loan was finally paid off in April i was looking forward to an extra ninety odd quid in my pay packet. Imagine my reaction when i received my pay slip to find yet another Student Loan deduction had been taken.

That was two weeks ago, but yesterday i finally pulled my finger oot and got on the blower to give 'em some grief. After explaining the situation at length, and in great detail i was told "according to our records your balance is currently at zero", uhh yes.. have you been listening to a word i've said? (hello! mcfly!). I politely suggest that this is in fact correct, as i've now paid it off.

To my surprise she goes on to explain things in a little more depth. "No.. our records show your balance at zero, records that haven't been updated for the last financial year, as in not since April 2008."

Now, me being a little slow, as i'm trying to put the pieces of this puzzle together in my heed, she obviously can't stand the silence any longer and interupts my thought process. "So in essence, you've over paid your loan by 14 months.... ...... ...... ..... so we probably owe you about thirteen hundred pound"

Having picked myself up off the floor, popped my eyes back in, and put my socks back on i said to her "You wouldn't joke about something like this would you?", she assured me she wouldn't.

She went on to ask me if i could send her a few documents (payslips, P60s, etc etc) which i gladly agreed to as you can imagine, saying "for £1,300 i'll do anything you want".

To be honest though, the rest of this week is going to be a bit of let down i reckon, nowt's topping that is it? The only question left to consider is.. what can i spend it on? I may push the boat oot and get myself some new Pyjama Bottoms like Vettel. Sod the yacht.
